Formulation vs Ingredients 

How many of you consider how your skincare products are actually formulated?

Many people tend to focus on the ingredients in a product, rather than the formulation...which is soo important! 

Why is product formulation important?

Product Formulation is how the different ingredients within your product interact and behave. For example, if you want a product that hydrates and moisturises then you will want to think about adding a humectant like Glycerin, Hyaluronic acid with a butter that moisturises.  

What about the ingredients?

We obviously can’t forget how important ingredients are. When ingredients are mixed into a formula it then creates a formulation, this is why they go hand in hand. 

The individual ingredients have very specific properties if one ingredient is changed in the formulation it can have a knock-on effect on the smell, texture, or the way the product works.

So the next time you are looking up a product you want to buy, also check the way the product has been formulated, not just the ingredients.
