How To Soothe A Sunburn?

Got sunny weather this week? Forgot to apply some SPF?  If you happen to have got a sunburn, from being in the sun too long, we have some suggestions for you to help soothe it and nourish your damaged skin.

Sunburn is not only seriously painful, but it can cause long-term skin damage, premature skin ageing, and even increase your risk of skin cancer, so it's always a good idea to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Dermatologists and skin experts alike, advise us to wear a minimum of SPF 30 on our face every single day - yes, even in the winter - to prevent all this.

6 Ways To Soothe A Sunburn:

1.Cool Down: Apply a cool damp towel to your skin for 15 minutes or take a bath or shower with water that’s just below a luke-warm temperature to cool down the burning sensation due to sunburn.

2.Reduce Inflammation: After you have sunburn, your body is trying to respond to the trauma by increasing blood flow to that area, which is why it appears red. With increased blood flow comes an increase of inflammation in that area, so you may want to take an aspirin or ibuprofen to ease inflammation and reduce pain.

3.Use Soothing Skincare:  A soothing and nourishing gel can do wonders on your sunburn, at Rich Skxn, we advise you to apply Red Rose Naturals – T.L.C  SKIN  SALVE, or Green tea soothing gel cream it gives your sunburn the nourishment it needs.

4.Don’t Peel Your Skin: Peeling your skin can make your sunburn worst and last longer than usual, be patient and soothe the burn.

5.Stay Hydrated: According to Dermatologists, sunburn can encourage fluid loss through the skin and leave you dehydrated, so drinking plenty of water will help your recover faster.

6.Don’t Forget To Apply SPF:  Prevention is better than cure so, the next time you go out in the sun, don’t forget to apply sunscreen, we would recommend you to use:
