Underrated Ingredients for Hyperpigmentation

Sun spots, dark circles, post acne marks... You've probably dealt with some type of hyperpigmentation. And we have 4 ingredients that every skincare lover NEEDS to know!

Looking for a multipurpose product that also helps with your dark spots? Click here to be the first to know about our NEW Product launch :)

1. Goji Berry

Some of you might enjoy them as a healthy snack (we're not judging don't worry), but Goji Berries have a bunch of benefits for your skin too! They’re packed with tons of different types of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients, which all help to even out the skin tone AND help maintain a healthy moisture barrier. This makes it the perfect solution to dark marks for sensitive skin babes.

2. Alpha Arbutin

Alpha Arbutin really is that girl. It helps to brighten existing hyperpigmentation and also prevents new spots forming. If you want to get technical, that's because alpha arbutin is a tyrosinase inhibitor, which reduces melanin production in the skin, helping you achieve an overall brighter complexion.

3. Niacinamide

You know and love this one. A lot of us got to know niacinamide thanks to the Ordinary and their Niacinamide + Zinc serum. Although it’s usually suggested for acne (and don’t get us wrong, it’s a great ingredient for acne and oily skin), it's also a great option for those looking to brighten their skin. Studies suggest that niacinamide might improve hyperpigmentation by reducing the transfer of cells that cause the pigmentation, called melanocytes.

4. Kakadu Plum

Kakadu plum is known for being one of the best sources of Vitamin C. (Yes, a lot better than orange) It's high in antioxidants and helps with hyperpigmentation and environmental damage (City babes, this is for you!)

We've created a product that combines all of these and more to help you fight hyperpigmentation and keep your moisture barrier intact. Click here to learn more.
